On Friday, major crypto tokens showed mixed patterns, while other altcoins fell marginally.
All major crypto tokens were trading with slight losses on Friday, with the top tokens like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and BNB, which are down by roughly 1–3%. Avalanche was down 5%, followed by Terra, which was down 4%.
The global cryptocurrency market cap was $1.78 trillion, down 2.42% in the last 24 hours. The overall cryptocurrency trade volume, on the other hand, increased by 14.97% to $99.83 billion.
Binance Refugee Crypto Card to come in aid of displaced Ukrainians
Binance, a global cryptocurrency and Blockchain infrastructure provider, unveiled the Binance Refugee Crypto Card on Tuesday for all current and new Binance users from Ukraine who have been forced to relocate to European Economic Area (EEA) nations due to the Russian invasion.
According to Binance, this card was designed in collaboration with Contis, a back-end and front-end payments provider available in the UK and EEA.
“It will allow displaced Ukrainians to make or receive crypto payments and complete purchases at retailers in the EEA who accept card payments,” Binance said in a blog post.
Bitcoin becomes the official currency in the Central African Republic
The Central African Republic has made Bitcoin its official currency, the presidency announced on Wednesday, making it the first African government and only the second in the world to do so.
Despite its enormous gold and diamond reserves, the Central African Republic is one of the world’s poorest and least-developed countries, and it has been plagued by rebel bloodshed for years.
According to a statement from the CAR presidency, lawmakers decided overwhelmingly to accept Bitcoin as legal cash.
The decision places CAR “on the map of the world’s most daring and visionary countries,” according to the statement.
